What is the St Helier Music and Community Festival?
The St Helier Festival is an annual event held in June to support, promote & facilitate community cohesion in the London Borough of Sutton. The Festival has become an important event in the St Helier Community calendar which was organised up until 2018 by The Sutton Federation for Tenants & Residents Association & The St Helier Festival Steering Group; For 2018, a volunteer led, not-for profit, group organised, ran & facilitated the event, enabling it to continue, grow & flourish. This meant the event had more emphasis on the youth, performers & charities in the community & was supported by The London Borough of Sutton, Sutton Safer Neighbourhoods, Celeb FC, Local Councillor Jean Crossby, Rocoja Ltd and The David Weir Leisure Centre.
For its 10th year, The St Helier Festival was held on Saturday 30th June providing a free fun day for all in the community; showcasing local entertainment & talent on a huge main stage, along with a full arena of community groups & causes with stalls & information stands.
There was also a huge emphasis on children’s entertainment, including Disney characters, Bouncy castles, inflatables & games; We also had some fabulous games such as “Play Your Cards Right” & other sporting activities along with a wandering Clown/Juggler, Cheerleaders, Martial Arts, Food from around the world and much much more!
The 11th St Helier Music and Community Festival will take place on Saturday 22nd June 2019
