What is the St Helier Music and Community Festival?
The St Helier Festival is an annual event held in June to support, promote & facilitate community cohesion in the London Borough of Sutton. The Festival has become an important event in the St Helier Community calendar which brings the community together, without charge for attendees.
This allows our emphasis to remain on everyone making up our diverse community.
For 2019, we had the continued support of Celeb FC, Local Councillor Jean Crossby, Rocoja Ltd, Tesco on the A217 in Sutton, The Local Sutton Guardian and The David Weir Leisure Centre, alongside new supporters Alfred Smith Funeral Directors, Croydon Plus Credit Union, Sutton Car Boot & Sutton Fire Brigade.
The 11th years event was held on Saturday 22nd June and provided a free fun day for all in the community; showcasing local bands on a huge main stage whilst having displays from local groups (Gymnastics & Dance etc) in the main arena at the upper end of the field. All surrounded by a plethora of community groups & causes, artisan food stalls & information stands.
This year saw a huge emphasis on children’s entertainment, including fabulous sporting activities such as gymnastics & boxing, along with wandering Clowns/Jugglers, Cheerleaders, Martial Arts & more.
